About The Position  

We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join ENTAG's Network Practice. This is a full-time, permanent role based in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, or Melbourne. 

In this role, you'll design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions for a diverse customer base while providing technical leadership across the Network Practice. Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, you'll work closely with customers, vendors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing network environments. 

You'll play a key role in project delivery, solution design, and pre-sales activities, while also supporting the Managed Services team with technical escalations and mentoring engineers across the business. 

In This Role You Will  

• Partner with customers and internal sales teams during pre-sales engagements, acting as a trusted technical advisor and key liaison.
• Lead and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Entag's products, services, and internal capabilities.
• Analyse operational methods, policies, practices, and standards to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including procedures, processes, solution designs, build guides, and as-built documentation.
• Facilitate technical workshops with customers throughout the pre-sales and delivery lifecycle to design and validate effective solutions.
• Lead the implementation of network and security solutions within customer environments, ensuring successful outcomes and adherence to best practices.
• Provide expert guidance on network architecture, design, implementation, and operational management.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and key stakeholders to support project planning, delivery, and customer success.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of project activities, documentation, and time entries within relevant business systems.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and managed services teams, fostering technical growth and capability development.
• Review technical solutions and contribute to the development of effort estimates, proposals, and RFP responses.

We’re Looking For  

A customer-focused network professional who combines deep technical expertise with a practical, solutions-driven mindset. You'll be comfortable leading complex network projects, building trusted relationships with customers, and collaborating with teams across the business to deliver exceptional outcomes. 

You’ll thrive if you have:  

• Extensive experience creating, troubleshooting and supporting complex networking environments, including implementation and management of networks. 
• Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet products and services, with proven involvement in large-scale rollouts. 
• Extensive experience with Cisco / Meraki products and services. 
• Extensive experience with network design, including producing network diagrams, implementation plans and as-built documentation. 
• Experience working with ISPs on WAN rollouts and implementation with regard to Telstra services. 
• Experience with Telstra (or other Telco) network services including Internet Direct, MPLS, Point-to-Point, Dark Fibre, Satellite and cellular technologies is highly desirable. 
• Strong knowledge of Routing, Switching. 
• Experience with zero-trust / SASE architectures 
• Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS) certification or higher. 

Desirable extras include:  

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or higher.  
• Experience with Palo Alto. 
• Relevant Fortinet, Cisco, or Cisco Meraki certifications. 
• Experience supporting pre-sales activities, technical workshops, and solution development. 
• Knowledge of ISO27001-aligned environments and information security best practices.
