Are you a hands-on professional with a passion for technical service, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional customer support? Diversey is looking for a Service Technician to support customer operations across the Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie region in Tasmania.


About the role:

We are seeking a Service Technician to support customers across the Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie region in Tasmania. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this role is focused on delivering high-quality technical service and operational support across customer sites.

You will play a key role in ensuring chemical treatment programs operate effectively by conducting testing, maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and providing hands-on technical support. This is a practical, field-based role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and building strong customer relationships.


You will be responsible for:

Technical Service & Operations

  • Conduct sampling and laboratory testing of process systems, ensuring accurate recording of results

  • Monitor system performance and identify, troubleshoot, and correct faults

  • Ensure chemical treatment programs operate within design parameters to achieve expected outcomes

  • Support onsite customer trials and provide professional technical assistance

Equipment Maintenance & Reliability

  • Inspect, clean, and maintain chemical dosing and monitoring equipment

  • Perform basic repairs, recalibration, and equipment reprogramming as required

  • Carry out manual chemical dosing when necessary

  • Report leaks, equipment issues, and unusual site conditions promptly

Inventory & Reporting

  • Maintain appropriate chemical stock levels and place orders as required

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for test results, monitoring, and service activities

  • Prepare and submit service reports and documentation in line with business requirements

Safety, Compliance & Collaboration

  • Follow all EH&S and environmental policies and customer site procedures

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safe work practices

  • Report incidents, hazards, and near misses

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and customers to achieve service and business goals

What you need to be successful

  • Valid driver’s license (essential)

  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to identify workplace hazards

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance

  • Good understanding of chemistry or willingness to learn

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities

  • Comfortable working unsupervised and performing routine technical tasks

  • Proficient in MS Office and general computer systems

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage customers and colleagues

  • Ability to travel and work across multiple sites

  • Comfortable working at heights (desirable)

  • Trade qualification or degree in Chemistry/Science is highly regarded

  • Prior industry experience (e.g., F&B industrial or other manufacturing industry) is advantageous
