Company Description

This is your opportunity to join our team of forward-thinking, change-making individuals. Operating at the intersection of health and tech, you'll help us shape the future of healthcare.

Our Mission

Healthengine’s mission is to improve access to healthcare by helping Australians find and connect with all care providers. We strive to achieve this through Australia’s leading healthcare marketplace, bringing together over 4 million active Australians, and more than 10 thousand practitioners that are powered by our technology - and growing.

We’re all patients, right? So, it’s easy to get behind a mission that seeks to improve the healthcare experience for all Australians.

The Gig

Our Technical Onboarding Specialist leads the successful implementation of our AI Phone Receptionist for customers with complex telephony environments.

The role partners across sales, telephony infrastructure, and product delivery to validate technical compatibility prior to contract, assess onboarding complexity, and coordinate with carriers, phone providers, and internal teams to deliver smooth, reliable deployments so customers experience a seamless onboarding and realise value and impact faster.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Technical Qualification: Partners with Sales to assess telephony feasibility, validate system compatibility (PSTN, SIP, PBX, cloud), and identify risks or gaps prior to contract signing.

  • Compatibility & Upgrade Assessment: Evaluates existing phone systems, recommends required configuration changes, and provides estimates on cost, effort, and complexity for upgrades.

  • Onboarding Triage & Ownership: Determines the appropriate onboarding pathway (standard vs technical), owns all complex technical onboarding cases, and acts as the escalation point for telephony-related challenges.

  • Technical Implementation & Carrier Management: Works directly with carriers and providers to configure call routing, SIP trunking, number porting, and call flows, ensuring successful setup and performance validation.

  • Internal Technical Support: Serves as the telephony subject matter expert, supporting Sales, Customer Success, and Operations with technical guidance and best-practice recommendations.

  • Product & Engineering Collaboration: Partners with Product and Engineering to surface edge cases, improve compatibility, influence roadmap decisions, and reduce implementation friction based on real-world deployments.

About You

You're the kind of person who takes accountability in a fast-paced, autonomous and flexible environment. Fast may be your default (like us!) but you never, ever compromise on what’s important, willing to take a steady, more informed approach when it comes to maintaining the trust of our team and customers. You handle change like a pro, and continuous improvement is a way of life. You are not afraid to speak up and share your thoughts respectfully, with the intention of making positive change. You take initiative and drive your own learning journey without waiting for someone to point you in the right direction. And ultimately, you care: about people, health and innovation.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Strong experience with phone systems, including PSTN and SIP environments.

  • Hands-on experience with SIP trunking, hosted PBX platforms, carrier routing, and broader VoIP infrastructure.

  • Practical understanding of call flows, routing logic, and telephony configuration.

  • Experience working directly with carriers or telephony providers to support setup, troubleshooting, and delivery.

  • Existing relationships or familiarity with telco or VoIP providers is advantageous.
