About the Role
To assist with our continued growth and administration restructure, MHE is currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. This new key role will sit between our customers and our workshop and will involve producing competitive quotations that balance customer expectations with company profitability. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with technical drawings, communicating with customers and suppliers, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our estimating processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for CNC milling, manual machining & fabrication projects
Develop accurate quotations that meet customer specifications while maintaining target profit margins
Work closely with Workshop Supervisors to achieve delivery schedules
Maintain & build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
Obtain supplier pricing for materials and outsourced services
Coordinate ordering of parts and materials for job completion
Maintain and update estimating databases, project documentation, quotations, revisions and correspondence
Contribute ideas to improve estimating processes and systems
Grow client relationships and identify new business opportunities
About You
Experience in estimating, dealing with clients, suppliers & production teams.
Ability to scope & interpret customer requirements, including technical drawings (AutoCAD knowledge is preferable)
Innovative problem-solving skills and commercial thinking
Collaborative team player with a proactive approach
Detail-oriented and highly organised
Professional and customer-focused
Good understanding of common engineering & machining methods is an advantage
