The role

Our existing customers are where revenue is retained and grown, and that book now needs a dedicated leader who leads from the front. This role leads our account management team and owns the strategy that keeps customers retained and growing.

This is a player-coach role. You'll carry valuable accounts yourself while you build and develop the team, and set the direction for how we manage, retain and expand accounts. You'll be hands on with customers as much as you're leading the people.

Success will look like a high-performing team (having fun), a healthy growing book, and a retention and expansion engine that scales.

What you'll own

  • Carry key accounts yourself. Personally own valuable relationships and the big calls, and set the standard the team plays to by doing the job alongside them.

  • Build a high-performing team. Lead, develop and support the account management team so every person is clear on what they own and held to a strong standard.

  • Own the retention and expansion strategy across the whole book, and the number that goes with it.

  • Partner with Sales and Product to drive expansion and new product adoption across the customer base.

How you'll lead

You'll lead from the front, carrying key accounts yourself so the team sees the standard, not just hears about it. You'll set clear direction and connect your team's work to what Parkable is trying to achieve. You'll give honest, timely feedback, make decisions clearly and own the outcomes, and create the conditions for people to do their best work. You'll hire well, develop your people, and model the standard you expect from others. And you'll create an environment of fun.

What you'll bring

  • A proven track record of leading account management or customer success teams, with clear evidence of building team performance and developing individuals.

  • Strong commercial and sales judgment, with a history of driving retention, expansion and net revenue retention across a portfolio.

  • Senior account management depth, and the appetite to stay hands on. You've owned major accounts, you still want to carry the important ones yourself, and you know what great looks like well enough to lift a team to it.

  • The strategic judgment to design how a team segments, resources and prioritises a growing book.

  • Fluency with AI and modern tooling to keep the team focused on customers, not admin.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in EV, mobility or proptech

  • Experience leading distributed teams across NZ, AU and international markets
