About the Role

Smartrak is a fleet telematics and EV fleet management SaaS business operating across Australia and New Zealand. We are combining our Sales and Marketing functions under one senior leader for the first time, and we are looking for the right person to own it. 

This is a seat on the Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the CEO. You will set the commercial strategy, lead the team, and be directly accountable for revenue growth. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will set the direction and you will be in it with your team.

You are a senior leader with proven experience across both sales and marketing functions. You think in strategy but you are close enough to the work to know when something is not landing and why. You use data to make decisions, AI tools to move faster, and good relationships to get things done across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own revenue and retention targets across the Sales and Marketing function, with clear accountability for pipeline health and forecast accuracy.

  • Set and execute a go-to-market strategy that grows Smartrak’s brand, drives qualified leads, and supports customer acquisition across enterprise and government sectors in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing team. Build capability across the function so knowledge and performance are not concentrated in any one person.

  • Manage the sales pipeline end to end, working closely with Customer Success and Product to improve conversion and retention.

  • Oversee marketing execution across paid search, social, email, SEO, content, and events.

  • Report on commercial performance at an executive level, using data and AI tools to drive decisions.

  • Contribute to a strong team culture in Melbourne and across the broader Smartrak business.

What will you bring?

  • Proven senior leadership experience across both sales and marketing functions, ideally in SaaS, tech, or mobility.

  • A track record of hitting revenue targets with a clear strategy behind every result, not just activity.

  • Experience leading and developing teams, with genuine examples of people who grew under your leadership.

  • Proven experience running paid Google and social lead-gen advertising, SEO, content, events, and account-based marketing campaigns.

  • Confident use of AI tools and modern ways of working as a standard part of how you operate.

  • Experience with Salesforce and marketing automation tools including Marketo or HubSpot.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills without the need to be the loudest person in the room.

  • A mindset that is hungry, humble, and smart.
