An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Network Operations Centre (NOC) Team Lead to join a leading Australian provider of enterprise-grade digital infrastructure, supporting critical network and data centre services across the country.

This role is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a Network Operations Centre, ensuring the delivery of highly available, secure and reliable network services. You'll provide operational leadership, manage major incidents and customer escalations, drive service excellence, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Service Delivery and Data Centre Operations teams to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

As the NOC Team Lead, you'll play a key role in developing a high-performing team while continuously improving operational processes, service quality and the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Centre.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of network infrastructure, data centre environments and customer services.
  • Manage workload allocation and prioritisation across the NOC team.
  • Lead Major Incident Management activities for critical customer-impacting incidents.
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical teams during outages and high-priority incidents.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Lead Post Incident Reviews (PIRs) and implement corrective actions to minimise future incidents.
  • Ensure incidents, service requests and changes are managed within agreed SLAs.
  • Partner with Service Delivery and Customer Success teams to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Review and approve planned maintenance activities and network changes.
  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and ensure appropriate risk assessments are completed.
  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of NOC Engineers.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to support career growth.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
  • Prepare operational reporting for senior leadership.

About You

You'll bring proven experience within a Network Operations Centre or Service Operations environment, along with the ability to lead technical teams in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • 5+ years' experience within a NOC or Service Operations environment.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise networking technologies, including:
    • Routing & Switching
    • BGP, OSPF and MPLS
    • WAN & Internet Services
    • SD-WAN
    • Firewalls and Network Security
    • Data Centre Networks
  • Solid knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and lead effectively during high-pressure incidents.

Desirable

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Cisco, Palo Alto or equivalent networking certifications.
  • Experience within an ISP, telecommunications, cloud, managed services or data centre environment.
  • Exposure to automation, scripting or operational reporting.
