Product General Manager - Payroll

As Product General Manager - Payroll, you'll be the 'CEO' of one of TechnologyOne's most strategic products. You'll set the vision, define the strategy, shape the roadmap and lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering a world-class Payroll solution used by enterprise customers across government, higher education, local government and commercial sectors.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a product business within one of Australia's largest and most successful enterprise SaaS companies. You'll work alongside leaders across R&D, Sales, Consulting, Product Success and Support to ensure our Payroll product continues to deliver exceptional customer outcomes while driving long-term growth and innovation.



What you'll be doing…

• Defining and executing the long-term vision and strategy for TechnologyOne Payroll.
• Owning the commercial success of the product, including growth, profitability, customer outcomes and market competitiveness.
• Acting as the voice of the customer, building deep relationships with customers, industry leaders and payroll professionals to understand emerging needs and market trends.
• Leading product investment decisions and balancing customer demand, innovation opportunities and commercial outcomes.
• Partnering closely with Sales, Consulting, Support, Product Success and R&D to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of new capabilities.
• Overseeing the full product lifecycle, from discovery and design through to release, adoption and ongoing optimisation.
• Driving innovation in payroll, workforce management and employee experience while ensuring compliance with evolving legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Building, developing and inspiring high-performing teams across product management, product success and payroll specialists.

Your Talents…

This role is ideal for a senior product, business or technology leader who combines deep Payroll domain expertise with proven experience leading software products at scale.

You'll bring:

• Significant experience within Payroll enterprise SaaS products.
• Experience leading a product, business unit or portfolio, with accountability for strategy, growth and customer outcomes.
• Strong product strategy and roadmap leadership capability, with the ability to balance customer needs, commercial priorities and long-term investment decisions.
• A track record of leading large, cross-functional teams across Product, R&D, Customer Success, Consulting or related functions.
• Deep understanding of the challenges faced by Payroll teams, HR leaders and enterprise customers.
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing budgets, prioritising investment and driving profitable growth.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executives, customers, partners and internal teams.
• A passion for building products customers love and leading high-performing teams.

This role is based at TechnologyOne's Brisbane headquarters. We welcome applications from across Australia, New Zealand, and overseas, however, candidates applying from outside Brisbane must be willing to relocate.
