About Now Book It

Now Book It is a hospitality SaaS platform serving 11,000+ venue operators across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the US. We help restaurants and venues fill seats, reduce no-shows, monetise events, and build lasting relationships with diners, all from a single connected platform. Our model is built on flat subscription pricing and no per-diner commissions, meaning venues keep more of what they earn and own the guest relationships they build. We're building the revenue operating system for the hospitality industry, and the work we do here has direct, visible consequences for the people running restaurants every day.

Why This Role Matters

NBI is mid-transformation. We're moving from a booking utility to a revenue operating system for the hospitality industry, and the Product Owner is the person who makes that ambition concrete. This isn't a ticket-writing role; it's a shaping role. You'll work across engineering pods, the Platform team, and commercial stakeholders to turn strategic bets into well-defined, buildable pitches, and then hold the line on scope until they ship.

The team operates on Shape Up: fixed-time cycles, a betting table, and no accumulating backlog of unfunded commitments. That means the work here rewards ruthless prioritisation, crisp written problem framing, and the discipline to say no to good ideas in service of the right ones. The product surface you'll be shaping spans reservation and table management, diner intelligence, events and functions, marketing integrations, and an evolving AI engagement layer. There is real, meaningful work to do across all of it.

PostHog telemetry, AI-assisted analysis, and direct input from venue operators are the inputs. Clear, well-scoped pitches and working software are the outputs. Everything in between is your craft.

Key Responsibilities

Shaping and Prioritisation
  • Translate strategic priorities from the Head of Product into well-formed Shape Up pitches: appetite, problem definition, solution sketch, and rabbit holes identified before a cycle begins.

  • Own the product scope for your workstreams, defending boundaries against scope creep throughout the delivery cycle.

  • Run the discovery process for new capabilities: customer interviews, telemetry review, support pattern analysis, and competitive signals. Synthesise findings into actionable problem statements that engineering pods can work from.

  • Maintain a prioritised queue of shaped work ready for the betting table, so pods are never blocked for want of a clear next pitch.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Product on roadmap sequencing, ensuring commercial milestones, platform constraints, and customer impact are balanced in the decisions taken to the betting table.

Delivery Partnership
  • Work day-to-day with delivery pods, present enough to unblock decisions without hovering over engineering.

  • Define acceptance criteria at the pitch level; trust the pod to break down tasks and manage their own cycle plan autonomously.

  • Participate in cycle kick-offs, mid-cycle check-ins, and cooldown retrospectives. Use cooldown periods productively for discovery and shaping, not backlog administration.

  • Work with the Test Automation function to ensure acceptance criteria translate cleanly into testable outcomes, and that quality is a design-time consideration rather than a handover concern.

  • Track work status across cycles in Linear; surface blockers early without creating process overhead.

Product Intelligence and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Own the product analytics feedback loop for your workstreams: instrument features in PostHog, monitor adoption and outcome metrics, and close the loop with quantified learning documented in Notion.

  • Act as the voice of the venue operator and diner in delivery decisions, grounding trade-offs in real usage data and direct customer insight rather than assumption.

  • Engage regularly with Sales, Customer Success, and the Head of Agentic Customer Operations to surface emerging needs and calibrate prioritisation against the commercial pipeline.

  • Support the Head of Product in external stakeholder communications, roadmap presentations, and commercial milestone alignment across the business.

About You

You think in outcomes, not outputs, and you've worked in product environments where that distinction actually mattered. You're comfortable writing a crisp problem statement without needing a template, and you know the difference between shaping a solution and over-specifying one. You bring energy to the discovery process and discipline to the delivery cycle.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

✅ 3+ years in a Product Owner or Product Manager role in a B2B SaaS environment

✅ Proven ability to write clear, well-scoped product pitches or specifications that engineering teams can pick up and deliver autonomously

✅ Experience working with product analytics tooling (PostHog, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar) to measure feature impact and inform prioritisation decisions

✅ Strong written communication skills; comfortable producing discovery summaries, pitch documents, and stakeholder updates with clarity and concision

✅ Comfortable operating in a continuous delivery model with frequent releases and feature-flag-enabled deployments

✅ Experience working alongside cross-functional engineering pods, including distributed or offshore teams

✅ Demonstrable ability to develop deep domain knowledge quickly; hospitality, restaurant tech, or venue operations experience is an advantage

✅ Comfortable with AI-assisted workflows and tooling, and genuinely curious about how they change the product development process

Highly Desirable
  • Experience with Shape Up methodology or equivalent fixed-time, fixed-scope delivery frameworks

  • Familiarity with Linear for work tracking and Notion for documentation

  • Exposure to LLM-based product features or AI-native product development, whether from a build or evaluation perspective

  • Experience owning product capability in a platform migration or modernisation context

  • Prior involvement in events, functions, or multi-channel venue management product areas

  • Experience using Claude or similar AI tooling to accelerate discovery, synthesis, or specification work

What's in it for You

You'll be shaping a product that has direct, daily consequences for thousands of venue operators. NBI is building toward a genuine revenue operating system for the hospitality industry, and the Product Owner sits inside that transformation, not outside it. You'll work with a team that uses Claude Code, PostHog, Linear, and GitLab as standard tooling; the process is built around what works, not what's familiar. Shape Up gives you a real mandate: a defined appetite, a shaped problem, and a pod trusted to deliver. The learning curve is steep and the ownership is real.

Why Join Us

NBI is a place where clarity and autonomy go hand in hand. You'll know what matters, you'll have room to pursue it, and the work will ship. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe the best product decisions come from teams who reflect the communities they serve.
