We're looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused sales professional to join our team in a unique hybrid role that combines external account management with internal sales support.

About the Role

This position is suited to someone who enjoys building relationships with customers while also being hands-on in the branch assisting the internal sales team when required.

You’ll spend the majority of your time visiting customers to strengthen relationships, identify new opportunities and grow existing accounts, while also supporting the branch when required by preparing quotations, processing orders, following up enquiries and ensuring customers receive prompt, professional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within your territory.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Provide technical product advice and practical solutions to customers.
  • Support branch operations during busy periods and provide backup to the internal sales team.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM system.
  • Monitor market activity and identify opportunities to increase sales and market share.

About You

We're looking for a team player who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing exceptional customer service.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in industrial distribution, industrial sales, engineering supplies or a related industry.
  • Experience in either internal sales, external sales or account management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • A proactive approach to identifying customer needs and delivering solutions.
  • Confidence using computer systems, ERP software and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
  • A current driver's licence.
