Business Development Manager — Risk, Compliance & Professional Services

Package: OTE circa $200,000

About Anitech

Anitech is a leading Australian boutique management consultancy specialising in risk and compliance. We work across Advisory & Audit Services and Occupational Hygiene & Health, helping organisations manage regulatory obligations, strengthen management systems and reduce operational risk across Australia and New Zealand.

With more than 20 years of operational risk and compliance expertise, Anitech has built a trusted reputation for professionalism, technical depth and reliable delivery across SMEs and large enterprises.

Anitech is now entering a defined FY2027 transformation, supported by an Advisory Board and the T27 Transformation Office, as we move towards a more system-led organisation with enhanced AI capabilities. This Business Development Manager role is central to building the next stage of revenue growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially sharp, outbound-focused Business Development Manager to create and grow new business across Anitech’s Advisory & Audit Services, Occupational Hygiene & Health services, ESG and sustainability programmes, and bundled Lahebo compliance software opportunities.

This is not an order-taking or account-farming role. It is a true new-business role for someone who can build pipeline from scratch, engage decision-makers, identify compliance and regulatory pain points, and convert opportunities into signed, payment-confirmed revenue.

You will report directly to the CEO in the initial phase and play a visible role in Anitech’s commercial growth agenda, with your pipeline forming part of the organisation’s governed reporting cadence.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

In this role, you will:

  • Proactively identify, target and engage new prospects across sectors including manufacturing, construction, engineering, professional services, government and healthcare across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Execute structured outbound campaigns through calls, personalised outreach, LinkedIn and email.

  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of at least 3× monthly revenue target.

  • Research target organisations, identify compliance and regulatory pain points, and tailor your approach to each prospect.

  • Lead discovery conversations, qualify opportunities rigorously and ensure only validated deals progress through the pipeline.

  • Develop tailored commercial proposals and guide prospects through the sales cycle to contract execution.

  • Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene through HubSpot, including accurate deal values, close dates, pipeline stages and activity tracking.

  • Work with Customer Success, delivery teams and functional leaders to align commercial opportunities with delivery capability.

  • Identify renewal, expansion and bundled service opportunities across Anitech’s client base.

  • Position Lahebo as the compliance management layer that helps clients operationalise Anitech’s advisory and audit outputs.

About You

You will be well suited to this role if you are:

  • A proven B2B consultative sales professional with at least 7+ years’ experience in solution sales and a demonstrated record of closing net-new business.

  • An outbound-first hunter who can create pipeline without relying only on inbound leads or warm introductions.

  • Experienced in selling into, or working within, at least two of the following sectors: consulting or professional services, construction, engineering, manufacturing, government or healthcare.

  • Commercially confident, with the ability to negotiate contracts, tenders and terms while protecting margin and value.

  • Comfortable working within a defined sales process, governance rhythm and CRM discipline.

  • Strong in written and verbal communication, with excellent presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in HubSpot or a similar CRM, as well as Microsoft 365 tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

  • Able and willing to travel across Australia and New Zealand as required.

Desirable Experience

The following would be highly regarded:

  • Experience selling risk, compliance, WHS, ISO certification, ESG, audit or occupational hygiene services.

  • Formal training in a structured sales methodology such as MEDDIC, Challenger, SPIN or similar.

  • Experience selling into a business undergoing transformation, where systems, process and governance are part of the growth journey.

  • Exposure to bid or tender management.

What We Offer

This is an opportunity to join an established Australian risk and compliance consultancy at a pivotal point in its growth journey. You will have the benefit of a 20+ year brand, deep technical expertise, trusted client relationships and a clear transformation mandate.

We offer a competitive package, hybrid flexibility from a Melbourne base, direct CEO access, and the opportunity to contribute to a business building a more structured, system-led commercial function. As the FY2027 structure matures, this role may evolve into a broader sales leadership pathway.

The Right Fit

The successful candidate will be a true hunter, commercially disciplined, compliance-literate, process-driven and resilient. You will be comfortable with ambitious targets, long consultative sales cycles, structured CRM use and Board-level visibility of commercial performance.

If you are looking for a role where you can build a genuine second revenue engine, shape a growth function and sell high-value compliance, audit, risk and technology-enabled services, we would like to hear from you.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short cover letter outlining your B2B sales experience, sectors sold into, and your track record in building new-business pipeline.
