What you will be doingWorking alongside our Manager of Marketing & Comms, this role sits at the intersection of content and performance, giving you direct ownership over the words that drive how people find and experience our platforms. You'll work alongside our Analytics Manager who handles the technical SEO foundation, so you can focus on what you do best: writing content that ranks and resonates.
Day to day that looks like:
- Planning, writing, and editing SEO-optimised copy for Workinitiatives and partner platform web pages, landing pages, blog content, and other digital assets, following on-page best practices
- Review, proofread, and optimise content across Workinitiatives' community platforms, ensuring location-specific pages and industry sector content is accurate, locally relevant, SEO-optimised, and published to standard across a range of industries and regions throughout Australia
- Managing content publishing, maintenance, and link integrity to ensure information remains accurate, current, relevant, and owned by appropriate subject matter experts
- Conducting regular keyword research to inform content gaps and priorities, messaging, and site experience
- Leverage AI tools to support content production efficiency, including developing, testing, and refining prompts to improve output quality and streamline content workflows
- Partnering closely with the Analytics Manager to align content output with technical SEO priorities and performance goals.
- Using tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush) to track content performance and identify and implement improvements to enhance user experience and business outcomes.

You will be a natural fit if you have:
- Proven experience in SEO copywriting, with a portfolio of published, search-optimised content.
- Solid understanding of on-page SEO principles and how content supports organic search performance.
- Experience with SEO and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or SEMrush.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to translate performance data and technical SEO requirements into clear, engaging copy.
- Strong project management skills and comfort juggling multiple content projects at once.
- Collaborative mindset and clear communication skills for working closely with technical stakeholders.
A background in the following would be highly regarded and welcome:
- Experience creating content within a specific industry or sector context, with the ability to adapt tone, terminology, and messaging for different audiences
- A sound understanding of Australia's geographical regions, cultural nuances, and the diversity of communities across metropolitan, regional, and remote areas
- Experience in the workforce development, employment services, or recruitment sector
- Experience in website UX/UI principles and how content design choices affect usability and conversion.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, or similar).
- Experience with A/B testing or content optimisation based on user behaviour data.
