Summary:
This is a rare role that sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise and real commercial impact.
As our Field Applications Engineer for APAC, you’ll be the person partners turn to when it matters most – on complex projects, new product introductions, and high-stakes pre-sale opportunities. You’ll work closely with Sales, Technical Support and Customer Success teams across Australia, New Zealand and Asia to ensure our partners are equipped to design, deploy and grow with ICT solutions.
If you’re a technically strong engineer who also knows how to communicate at a commercial level and build lasting partner relationships, this role was built for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing expert application engineering support to partners on complex projects and integrations across the APAC region
- Acting as the embedded technical resource for partners during new product introductions, particularly in the first 90 days of a product launch
- Providing pre-sale technical support for complex opportunities, contributing directly to partner pipeline and revenue outcomes
- Resolving high-complexity technical escalations from Technical Support, both remote and on-site across the region
- Representing ICT at partner events, trade shows, and training sessions across APAC
- Collaborating across APAC on global accounts, shared design standards and product feedback loops
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:
- A technically strong engineer who’s equally comfortable presenting to a partner’s executive team as you are troubleshooting on-site
- Commercially aware – you understand how your work connects to partner profitability and pipeline
- A natural relationship builder comfortable engaging at both technical and management levels
- Self-directed and organised, able to manage multiple projects and time zones without losing attention to detail
- Ready to travel regionally and occasionally internationally when the role requires it
Qualification and skills:
- 3+ years of experience in a technical field applications, systems engineering, installation, or pre-sales role – ideally within access control, security integration, or a related technology domain. Installation professionals with customer-facing experience are encouraged to apply.
- Relevant industry certifications desirable (e.g. access control, networking, IP systems, or vendor-specific qualifications)
- Deep technical knowledge across access control, intrusion, and security integration domains – familiarity with ICT products an advantage but not required
- Cyber-aware approach to solution design, with working knowledge of network segmentation, credential security and system hardening
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both technical and commercial
- Comfortable working autonomously across a regional remit with stakeholders in multiple time zones
Only applicants with legal work rights within Australia will be considered.
