They are now embarking on a major 10-year growth roadmap to scale their ecosystem to 1,000 clients. To quarterback this expansion, they are seeking a deeply technical, commercially sharp General Manager to lead their Parramatta-based operations.
Position Purpose As the General Manager, you will partner directly with the Founder to serve as the technical anchor, operational cornerstone, and public face of the business. This is a heavyweight executive role tailored specifically for an operational leader with a deep technology background.
You will manage and lead the day-to-day operations of the 30-person business by directly governing 6 key departments Heads: Software Development; Infrastructure; Client Services; Sales; Product & Marketing.
Working in lockstep with the Founder to execute their long-term vision, you will ensure that scaling the client base never compromises product integrity, system performance, or customer success. You will balance rigorous technical oversight across these business units with full P&L management, strategic pre-sales support, and high-level commercial advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Governance, SLA Management & Product Direction - Engineering & Infrastructure Oversight: Directly manage the Software Development and Infrastructure department heads. You will provide high-level technical oversight.
- Strict Service Delivery & Response Times: Ensure ensuring high client satisfaction and retention as the user base grows.
- Technical Roadmap Execution: Partner with the Product Lead to translate business strategy into technical requirements. Ensure feature rollouts align with commercial viability, user feedback, and technical feasibility.
- Tech Innovation & Future-Proofing (AI/Automation Opportunity): Evaluate the existing product suite to identify modern tech injects. While there is no active AI development today, you will have an opportunity to bring fresh ideas to the table, exploring how emerging technologies, AI integrations, or advanced data automation can take the software platform to the next level.
Strategic Pre-Sales & Key Account Advocacy - High-Value Key Account Collaboration: Work closely with the Sales Manager to manage and nurture relationships with the company's largest, "big name" tier-one clients, ensuring long-term retention and partnership alignment.
- Technical Pre-Sales Engagement: Act as the heavy-hitting technical voice during late-stage enterprise sales cycles. You will step into complex pitches to explain software capability, security frameworks, and integration roadmaps to high-level technical stakeholders on the client side.
- Industry Event Presence & Networking: Serve as the primary face of the business in the market. Travel monthly or bi-monthly to key industry events and trade shows to generate top-of-funnel interest, network at senior levels, and evangelize the brand.
Financial Stewardship & P&L Management - Full P&L Responsibility: Own the operational budget and P&L for the business. Balance technical R&D and infrastructure costs against revenue targets, driving operational efficiencies to maximize margins.
- Commercial Strategy: Ensure the broader operational output and product releases directly align with the revenue targets and profitability metrics set with the Founder.
SME Scaling & Talent Acquisition - Hands-on Team Building: Be involved in the recruitment process across all 6 departments as the company scales over time.
- Organizational Scaling: Apply proven frameworks for scaling Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from 30 staff upward, optimizing workflows and team structures to prevent operational friction.
