Growth Potential partners with ambitious business owners to help them think better, decide better and build businesses capable of sustainable growth.
We're looking for an energetic, intelligent and highly organised Outbound Business Development Representative, to become the first member of our outbound growth team.
This is much more than a sales role.
You'll help build and refine the systems, messaging and campaigns that generate high-quality business conversations. Working directly alongside our leadership team, you'll help shape an outbound growth function that supports both Growth Potential and our advisory clients.
Initially this is a part-time position (approximately 2–3 days per week), with the expectation that it will develop into a full-time role as activity and client demand grow.
Your role is to create quality business conversations.
Sometimes you'll be introducing business owners to Growth Potential and arranging meetings for our advisory team.
Other times you'll be representing our clients, engaging with prospective customers and arranging appointments for business owners or senior leaders within those businesses.
No two campaigns will be the same. You'll learn different industries, refine messaging, test ideas and continually improve results.
This is a phone-first role. While you'll use email, LinkedIn and CRM tools every day, your primary responsibility is to create meaningful business conversations through outbound calling.
This is a highly active outbound role.
You should expect to spend 80–90% of your working day speaking with prospective customers, following up leads, qualifying opportunities and arranging meetings.
The remaining time will be spent:
Maintaining accurate CRM records and campaign activity.
Preparing campaign lists and researching prospects.
Coordinating follow-up across phone, email and LinkedIn.
Attending internal planning sessions and selected client strategy meetings.
Reviewing campaign performance and refining messaging.
Testing new ideas and continuously improving results.
If you enjoy speaking with people, thrive on activity and gain satisfaction from creating opportunities through consistent effort, you'll love this role.
If you're looking for a role that's primarily administration, account management or marketing, this probably isn't the right fit.
Conduct outbound business development calls to business owners and senior decision-makers.
Follow up direct mail, LinkedIn, email and marketing campaigns.
Qualify opportunities and schedule meetings for:
Growth Potential advisors and partnership team members.
Business owners and senior leaders within our client businesses.
Manage multiple outbound campaigns simultaneously across different industries.
Maintain exceptional CRM hygiene, ensuring all activity, notes and follow-up actions are accurately recorded.
Own the quality of prospect data and pipeline management.
Coordinate structured follow-up sequences across multiple communication channels.
Attend campaign planning sessions and selected client strategy meetings to gain a deep understanding of each client's value proposition.
Capture market intelligence, customer feedback and objections to continually improve campaigns.
Help develop scripts, messaging, targeting and outreach strategies based on real-world learning.
Measure activity, conversion rates and campaign effectiveness, continually looking for ways to improve.
Loves talking with people.
Builds rapport naturally and quickly.
Is articulate, confident and highly professional.
Learns quickly and adapts when things aren't working.
Thrives on coaching and continuous improvement.
Is resilient, optimistic and self-motivated.
Enjoys solving problems and thinking commercially.
Can work independently while contributing strongly to a team.
Has exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
Understands that consistent follow-up creates opportunities.
Takes rejection with a smile and sees every conversation as an opportunity to learn, improve and ultimately find a way to win.
High energy.
Strong emotional intelligence.
Adaptable and coachable.
Positive and resilient.
Competitive without being pushy.
Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong technology skills and confidence using CRM systems.
Naturally proactive and action-oriented.
A DISC profile with stronger Influence (I) and Dominance (D) traits would likely suit the role well, although attitude and coachability are far more important than any profile.
Experience in outbound sales, appointment setting, business development, customer success or relationship management would be highly regarded.
More important, however, is intelligence, attitude, curiosity, resilience and a genuine desire to become exceptional at building business relationships.
Part-time (approximately 2–3 days per week).
Ideally Tuesday to Thursday.
Primarily based in our Sydney CBD office (Level 26, 1 Bligh Street).
Flexible working arrangements by agreement.
Approximately $3,000 per month (part-time), depending on experience.
Attractive performance-based commission linked to qualified meetings that are attended, rather than simply meetings booked.
Genuine opportunity to progress into a full-time role as the business and client portfolio expand.
This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up.
You'll work directly alongside experienced business advisors who have built, scaled and exited businesses themselves. Your ideas won't disappear into a corporate hierarchy—they'll shape how we build our outbound growth capability.
You'll gain exposure to businesses across a wide range of industries, contribute to real growth strategies and help create meaningful commercial opportunities for both Growth Potential and our clients.
If you're looking for a role where you can learn quickly, be trusted with responsibility, see the direct impact of your work and grow your career alongside a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
