About the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sales Support Officer to join our Sales Support team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Customer Success Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient order processing, on-time deliveries, and excellent service to both internal and external customers.
This role is central to the smooth operation of our sales activities, supporting a business with a strong presence in the Australian lubricants market.
Candidates must have valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa to be eligible for this position.
Key responsibilities
As a Sales Support Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Responding to customer enquiries related to product availability, pricing, orders, and deliveries
Processing sales orders and managing backorders
Coordinating freight and ensuring on-time delivery to customers
Consolidating load plans and delivery dockets
Creating and managing invoices and credit notes
Monitoring stock levels (bulk, packaged, and grease) and daily inventory data
Creating purchase requisitions for equipment and inventory
Booking packaged shipments and managing stock transfers
Liaising with Supply & Logistics teams locally and internationally (including Singapore)
Supporting master data management (customer and product data)
Working with Sales and Finance teams to manage outstanding balances
Assisting with digital backend platform management
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Providing ad hoc support to the Sales Support team and broader business as required
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in a sales support or customer service role
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in sales support or customer service roles
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with SAP and/or CRM systems (highly regarded)
Basic SAP knowledge is preferred for this role
