About the Role

As our Western Australian Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth across WA through new business development, territory management and customer relationship building. We value past experience selling mini dumpers, mini skid steer loaders or experience selling renewables products.

This autonomous, hands-on, field-based role will see you working closely with contractors, hire companies, distributors and end users to identify opportunities, demonstrate products, provide solutions and grow market share.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving sales and revenue targets across Western Australia

  • Developing new business and growing existing customer relationships

  • Conducting product demonstrations and solution-based sales discussions

  • Managing your sales pipeline, CRM and territory plan

  • Building strong industry networks and representing Makinex in the market

  • Monitoring market trends and identifying growth opportunities

  • Collaborating with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer service and support throughout the sales cycle


About You

You are a driven and commercially minded sales professional with a passion for building relationships, uncovering opportunities and delivering results. You are motivated to win new business, take ownership of your performance and enjoy working autonomously to grow your territory.

With a genuine hunter mentality, you are resilient, customer-focused and motivated by achieving outcomes. You build trust quickly, identify customer needs and provide value-based solutions that create long-term partnerships and sustainable business growth.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 3+ years' B2B sales experience within earthmoving equipment sales, construction products sales, flooring equipment sales, cleaning equipment sales or the hire and rental industry

  • A proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing a territory

  • Experience selling to contractors, hire companies, mining operations, trade businesses or industrial customers

  • Strong business development, relationship-building and communication skills

  • The ability to work autonomously and effectively manage a large territory

  • A current and unrestricted Australian driver's license

Highly regarded:

  • Experience within earthmoving equipment hire sales, complex renewable product sales, equipment hire, cleaning equipment sales , flooring equipment sales.

  • Existing networks within the WA landscaping, construction, civil, mining or resources sectors

  • Knowledge of floor preparation, surface preparation or related equipment

  • Knowledge of hybrid power, battery storage or renewable energy solutions
